However, the point of the Inkling being male does bring it into question, since the Zora Sage of Rauru's time was female. I'm leaning more towards it being the ancient sages, and the light blue was just chosen because it most closely resembles the color of water. As for Mineru, her Construct form is the only form we see her battling in, so it makes the most sense to reference it. I could really see this going either way though. ::I mostly concur with Meanscreen on this; I suspect that the intention is to specifically show the group from Rauru's time first and foremost. There's precedent for the gender of characters used in spirit battles not matching the ones they represent, anyway (for example, Pit as H'aanit).
