Songs from the GC era[edit]
I am going to post here because most original songs from the GC era have been replaced Ultimate with remixes. This comes from someone that can tell instrument differences but much not quality so feel free leave your opinion if i get something wrong.
Let's start there, the Smash Bros. version of "Dragon Roost Island" is one that have two things to note. The 1st is that while I can not tell you if its based on the in-game version or the soundtrack version (as noted in the wiki), it is at least of higher quality than both of them, probably even an uncompressed version as it also features reverb not found in the other two versions. The 2nd point is that it does not loop the same way. The in-game version loops at 1:21 back to 0:27 (I can not corroborate that the OST version does the exact same as the song is 1:36 in lenght) while the Smash version does something that sound similar but is actually going back to 0:04 but adds the instrument (plucked bass?) that is added at 0:32.
"The Great Sea" is also an uncompress version, with the drums being more prominent than the in-game and OST versions. This is also true for "Molgera Battle" but less noticeable besides sounding clearner than the OST and in-game versions.
For Twilight Princess, "Midna's Lament" is a uncompressed version as the piano at the intro sounds different (could be due to the reverb) than the in-game and OST versions and having a high quality sound. For "The Hidden Village" is also uncompressed having high quality instruments, plus, it has a higher tempo than both the in-game and OST versions (for the OST version I cheated and used the HD version that came out later and yet, does not sound the same).
