==Origin==
{{pkmn|Solgaleo}} is a Psychic/Steel-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in {{iw|bulbapedia|Generation VII}}, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #791 as the "Sunne Pokémon". It serves as the mascot for ''Pokémon Sun''. It evolves from {{pkmn|Cosmoem}} when leveled up in ''Pokémon Sun'', ''Pokémon Ultra Sun'', ''Pokémon Sword'' or ''Pokémon Scarlet'' starting at level 53. It is one of {{pkmn|Cosmog}}'s final forms, the other being [[Lunala]]. {{pkmn|Necrozma}} fuses with Solgaleo using the {{iw|bulbapedia|N-Solarizer}} to become Dusk Mane Necrozma.

{{iw|bulbapedia|Sunsteel Strike|move}} is Solgaleo's {{iw|bulbapedia|signature move}}. It has 100 power and 100% accuracy and allows its user to ignore the target's Abilities when dealing damage.

Once summoned, Solgaleo appears on stage and unleashes its signature move, Sunsteel Strike ({{ja|メテオドライブ|Meteo Doraibu}}, ''Meteor Drive'') towards its opposing fighters, and will teleport to another place on the stage, repeating the process until it disappears. Sunsteel Strike takes the form of a fiery aura circling Solgaleo before it launches itself forward in a sudden beam of fire, which can be hard to dodge due to its sheer speed.

On most stages, Solgaleo has a spawn rate of {{Fractions|12|1463}} from Poké Balls and {{Fractions|40|842}} from Master Balls. It has a modified spawn weight on the following stages (actual chances may vary based on changes to other Pokémon):
*Master Balls 40 → 60: [[Pokémon Stadium 2]].

Solgaleo cannot be summoned on the following stages in a standard versus match (applies only to the base form unless noted otherwise):

Solgaleo also appears as an Ace-class [[primary spirit]]. In [[Adventure Mode: World of Light]], its spirit is called as part of [[Galeem]]'s reinforcements in {{b|The Final Battle|World of Light}} after the first {{SSBU|Crazy Hand}} is defeated.

Solgaleo's Spirit Battle uses a white Gold {{SSBU|Incineroar}} puppet fighter with 160 HP and is fought on a hazardless [[Spear Pillar]]. Incineroar favors special moves and starts with a Poké Ball containing Solgaleo.
