'''Umeki''' ({{ja|うめき|Umeki}}, ''Umeki'') is a Smasher from [[Kantō]], Japan. With a career spanning over a decade, he is considered one of the best [[Peach]], and by extension her [[clone]] [[Daisy]], players across several different ''[[Super Smash Bros. (series)|Super Smash Bros.]]'' titles.

Debuting in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' with decent performances, Umeki first made a name for himself in {{forwiiu}} by becoming one of the best {{SSB4|Peach}} players in his country, ranking among the top 50 in Japan for all of ''Smash 4''. He was especially known for consistently making use of Peach's up air infinite, leading many to dub it the "Umeki Rainbow". In-tournament, he frequently placed highly at {{Trn|Umebura|series}} events. His best string of performances in ''Smash 4'' took place in the game's final year, where he finished 2nd at {{Trn|Umeki Project}} and 9th at {{Trn|Umebura Smash 4 Final}}; these results landed him at 58th on the [[OrionRank 2018]]. Due to his success in Japan, as well as some success internationally such as placing 9th at {{Trn|Apex 2016}}, Umeki was ranked 94th on the [[PGR 100]] as one of two Peach players, the other being {{Sm|Samsora}}, to rank on the list.

Upon ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]''{{'}}s release, Umeki switched to Peach's Echo Fighter, {{SSBU|Daisy}}, and became the character's primary representative. In the early metagame, he placed top 8 at several Japanese majors, including a 3rd-place finish at {{Trn|Umebura SP 6}}, and eliminated {{Sm|MkLeo}} at {{Trn|Umebura Japan Major 2019}}, giving MkLeo the worst placement of his ''Ultimate'' career up to that point. Due to these performances, he was ranked on both iterations of the [[PGRU]]. In the post-[[COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on competitive Smash|pandemic]] metagame, however, Umeki became notoriously inconsistent, with several high-highs being balanced out by some noteworthy lows. Despite these inconsistent performances, he remained one of the best Peach/Daisy players in competitive play, finishing 2nd at {{Trn|Seibugeki 12}} and even winning the ditto against {{Sm|MuteAce}} at {{Trn|Port Priority 8}}. His continued success led him to rank among the top 100 for most of the post-pandemic metagame, and he reached a career high in 2023 after ranking 33rd on [[LumiRank 2023|that year's LumiRank]].

Umeki is also a prominent [[tournament organizer]] in Japan, and is the head tournament organizer for the Umebura series in ''Ultimate''.
