He began competing in {{forwiiu}} in Japan's online metagame, mainly through {{Trn|Tamisuma|series}} and [[Smashmate]] before making his first offline appearance at {{Trn|Umebura 15}}. From then, he gradually became one of the best Japanese players in the game, culminating in his victory at {{Trn|Umebura S.A.T.}}, which was the first and only major victory for a ''Smash 4'' {{SSB4|Sonic}} player. With many other incredible performances throughout his career, he is often considered the greatest Sonic player of all time, as well as one of the best ''Smash 4'' players of all time, ranking 9th on the [[Panda Global Rankings 100]] as the highest-ranking Japanese player.

In ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]'', KEN continued to play {{SSBU|Sonic}} and was considered the best Sonic player from 2019 to 2021. He was the first Sonic player to win a major, doing so by winning {{Trn|Sumabato SP 6}}, and had many other impressive runs during this time despite lukewarm results internationally. Though his results have since been matched or surpassed by other Sonic players, most notably {{Sm|Sonix}}, KEN remains one of the greatest Sonic players of all time. In addition, KEN also played {{SSBU|Sephiroth}} extensively in 2022, and is considered one of the greatest Sephiroth players of all time. His Sephiroth is especially known for winning {{Trn|Battle of BC 4}}, which remains the only major ever won by a Sephiroth player.
