He is considered one of the best Fox players in the post-[[Slippi]] era as well as one of the greatest Link players of all time. Aklo is notable for his versatile recovery mixups, proficiency in tech-chasing, and solid defensive game. He first gained attention from the broader ''Melee'' scene by demonstrating proficiency against the old guard of top players in Northeastern US regionals, including {{Sm|Hax}}, {{Sm|Rishi}}, and {{Sm|Captain Smuckers}}, and regularly placing in the top 3 at New York City events. He made his global debut at {{Trn|Smash Summit 11}}, where he defeated then-top 5 player {{Sm|Axe}}, and since then has established himself as a top 10 player. In addition, he is known for his success with the mid-tier character Link, often using the character in the {{SSBM|Marth}} matchup and even having multiple wins over the best Marth players in the world during this time, including {{Sm|Zain}} and {{Sm|KoDoRiN}}. With all this success, he is often regarded as one of the best players to emerge from the post-Slippi era.

In ''[[Project M]]'', he played both {{PM|Link}} and {{PM|Fox}}, and notably attended both iterations of The Flex Zone, placing 7th at both. *Aklo has played ''Melee'' since he was a toddler, and grew up alongside a family of brothers who all retain an active competitive interest in the game. His brothers' tags are {{Sm|Killacubs}}, {{Sm|Foxy Grandpa}}, and {{Sm|Vidiot}}.
**Collectively known as the Brotherhood, they all attended {{Trn|The Flex Zone}} and caused some significant upsets in ''Project M'' singles, in which:
***Killacubs sent {{Sm|Gallo}} to Loser's side of bracket.
***Foxy Grandpa sent {{Sm|dvd}} to Loser's side of bracket.
***Vidiot eliminated {{Sm|Malachi}} at 33rd place.
