#Support. Seeing some recent edit wars this looks like a good idea.SupαToαd64, the Best 19:12, September 22, 2019 (EDT)
#Support Don't really see a reason to oppose. There doesn't seem to be anything positive about edit wars. An Adventurer draws near! (talk) 09:47, September 25, 2019 (EDT)

This is phrased weirdly, so I thought I'd check before supporting -- does this version of the policy still prevent users from reverting edits that are in violation of this policy? It says "other" policies, so that implies that it is only other policies, but it isn't quite as clear as 1RV currently is. If the intention is for that part of 1RV to remain the same, then I would suggest rephrasing to say something to the effect of "policies (excluding violations of this reversion policy, as that will generally only serve to escalate the situation)". If the intention is to eliminate that part of the policy, then I strongly disagree. TheNuttyOne 09:06, June 20, 2019 (EDT)

:Reverting a revert which violates 1RV is still reverting a revert, and so it still violates it. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 09:24, June 20, 2019 (EDT)

:That being said, would people prefer if I added a section about what doesn't constitute an exception to 1RV? Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 09:29, June 20, 2019 (EDT)
::More specificity never hurts. TheNuttyOne 00:12, June 22, 2019 (EDT)
Bumping this proposal. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 14:22, August 4, 2019 (EDT)
So what happens if one is trying to stop an edit war by having to edit war? For example, I revert an edit that User X made, then he reverts it. I then revert his edit because it's edit warring and then start a discussion on it. :Only if it meets one of the four conditions listed in the policy. Otherwise it's not permitted, both under the original policy and this one. Assuming you're referring to the edit war on ZeRo's page, this would be ok since as you pointed out, ZeRo is severely lacking in results for Ultimate, and so the editor is violating SW:NOTABLE. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 12:54, August 11, 2019 (EDT)
Bumping this again. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 11:04, September 6, 2019 (EDT)
Maybe I am missing something, but I am not sure what this policy would add that 1RV doesn't already cover. Could you break that down? SerpentKing 17:01, September 9, 2019 (EDT)
:This version includes a clearer explanation of what exceptions are, more advice about how to deal with edit wars, more on what an edit war actually is, and the focus of the article is on edit warring itself, not the term used to describe how it is governed. I want to pass this, are you fine with me moving this out of your userspace? SerpentKing 13:31, December 3, 2019 (EST)
:Yes. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 13:36, December 3, 2019 (EST)
