Gerudo Dragon is an uppercut that has the ability to evade some [[projectile]]s while the attack is propelling Ganondorf forward, similarly to Raptor Boost. The attack sends the opponent upwards, but unlike Raptor Boost, it does not [[meteor smash]] when used in the air. The attack inflicts 17% on the ground, and 16% while airborne.

In the low-to-middle percentages, the attack can set up for many follow-ups and [[combo]]s, though not as effectively as Raptor Boost, due to its higher knockback. However, despite its higher knockback, it is generally not strong enough to KO at realistic percentages. During start up, the move advantageously steps back swiftly, which can be used for evasion before the move hits (commonly referred to as [[hurtbox]] extension), such as immediately out of a [[tech]] for the opponent to whiff a [[grab]] while running in.

The move is generally not optimal to use due to its short distance that gives it a poor approach, and is easily punishable if used under the wrong circumstances. The attack is moderately [[lag]]gy if missed; Ganondorf will fall to the ground and sluggishly get up, all the while vulnerable to attack. In addition, like with Raptor Boost, Gerudo Dragon does not grab [[ledge]]s, making it poor for horizontal recovery. Due to its risk vs. reward, the move, however, can have some situational, niche uses. The grounded version can also be canceled immediately, having no lag, if the move is interrupted by a wall.
