'''Florida''' is a Smash region that encompasses the U.S. state of Florida, located in the southeastern United States. Florida is often split up into different subregions, the most important ones being Central Florida, which includes Tampa and Orlando, and South Florida, which includes Miami. North Florida has Jacksonville, and Southwest Florida has Cape Coral. Its close proximity with the nations that comprise the [[Caribbean]] region has also resulted in more frequent crossover than other North American regions.

As one of the most popular destinations for conventions in the country, Florida has been home to one of the largest and most active tournament scenes, particularly after the release of ''Brawl.'' It is known as one of the strongest ''Melee'' regions in the United States, as the home of {{Sm|Hungrybox}} and {{Sm|Plup}}, two of the best players in the world, and many other nationally ranked players. Florida also hosts a strong and active ''Smash 4'' and ''Project M'' scene. During ''Brawl'''s competitive lifetime, Florida was known as one of the "big four" regions along with [[Tristate Area|New York/New Jersey]], [[SoCal]], and [[Texas]] as one of the four strongest regions in the country, most famously home to {{Sm|ESAM}}, one of the best players in the world.

Florida is host to {{Trn|CEO}}, one of the world's premiere fighting game events, and several major [[MLG]] events have been hosted in Orlando. In the grassroots scene, Florida was known for hosting the {{Trn|Smash the Record}} charity events, as well as other stacked majors such as the {{Trn|Cirque}} series.
