*Bowser, Luigi, and the Ice Climbers are the only veteran characters in ''Ultimate'' who can surpass their fast-falling speeds from ''Melee'' this time around, but couldn't do so in the last games they appeared in (which are ''Smash 4'' and ''Brawl'', respectively). However, Luigi is a special case; his fast-falling speed in ''Smash 4'' was identical to his fast-falling speed in ''Melee''.
*Out of every veteran character in ''Ultimate'' who can't surpass their fast-falling speed in ''Melee'', Kirby and Jigglypuff are tied for coming the closest; their fast-falling speeds in ''Ultimate'' (1.968 and 1.568, respectively) are just 0.032 units off from their fast-falling speeds in ''Melee'' (2.0 and 1.6, respectively).
