Vegetables are items from the Ice Climber series.
Origin
The vegetables originated from the game Ice Climber. While trying to complete a level, vegetables appear, and if the player collected all of them, they would be awarded a bonus.
Collecting all five pieces of Corn on the fifth bonus level awarded them with an extra life.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
The vegetables appear in Summit, complete with a new 3-D look. They can be used to replenish characters' health.
