I said "'next year' will refer to 2021 in just a few days". Meaning, if you write "next year" on an encyclopedic article and someone happens to read that passage after January 1, 2020 (which is merely nine days away, as of this writing), the phrase "next year" will refer to 2021 instead of 2020. That creates unnecessary vagueness which will not stand the test of time (not even a short time), and it would have to be changed to "this year" in just a few days. This is all easily avoidable by specifying the year as 2020 and not just "next year".
Before insulting me by telling me I'm illiterate and have no concept of calendars, perhaps you should take a moment to read what I actually wrote and check your own calendar.
