Overview

I am an Australian semi-competitive Smasher who plays both Melee and Brawl (although I do play 64 occasionally). I main Jigglypuff and Ice Climbers in Melee, with Ness and Mr. Game & Watch as secondaries or for low-tier tournaments. I also occasionally use Ganondorf, Pichu and Roy.

I main Ness and Jigglypuff in the original game for Nintendo 64, and don't really use anyone else.

I can use anyone in Super Smash Brothers Brawl, but some of the more common characters I pick are Mr. Game and Watch, Jigglypuff, Meta Knight and Snake.

How I Started Playing Smash

I always used to play Smash 64 with my older brother and his friends before Melee was released, I used Pikachu because he was the only one I knew of (from the Pokemon anime dub). When Melee came out, my brother unlocked all the characters and stages for me and I used to play against him, most commonly on Corneria with no items. Because I only had my brother to play against, my main goal was to get skilled enough to beat him consistently (he mains Marth). I started visiting Detstar.com's Melee section, and while I knew about competitive play and advanced techniques, I gave up on trying to learn them very quickly because of their difficulty.

Eventually, the memory card became corrupted and we lost our save data. Since my bro had stopped playing the game frequently, it was up to me to unlock everything again. This gave me a good taste of all of the different characters, stages and modes. I continued playing and went on the Melee section of the original NSider boards frequently, this was my first proper taste of competitive smash and a smash forum. So I continued practicing to beat my brother, still ignoring advanced techniques. At this point I was using Roy, Ness and Ice Climbers if I remember correctly.

When I moved school, I found that some of my classmates also played Melee/64. At this time I was eagerly awaiting Brawl as well, following the updates on the Dojo, debating about it on Nsider.com, creating character movesets, etc... When Brawl came out, I played it every now and then with my friends from school. We thought after a while "Hey, we should try out Melee again". So we did, and then we were hooked. I finally decided to learn advanced techniques, how to use my character's properly and I signed up for an account at Smash World Forums (I got banned from Nsider when someone hacked into my account). We still played Brawl, but Melee became a lot more competitive for us. Eventually I was skilled enough, with the help of the community here and practising with my friends to beat my brother and fulfill a childhood dream. I still remember and recognise Melee as the game that got me interested in video games, and if I didn't have that driving motivation to overthrow my brother's position as Melee King of the family, I probably wouldn't be typing this now.

Aliases

I am known on Smash World Forums under the name 'Grim Tuesday', DeviantArt as 'TheDailyStroller', Youtube as 'xLord Sundayx' and Game Maker Community Forums as 'Superior Saturday'. I use the aliases "Grim", "Tues", "Mas" and "Mason" in both Melee and Brawl.

Smash Info

I am one of the very few Jigglypuff, Ice Climbers, Ness and Mr. Game and Watch mains in Australia. I am known amongst my friends for my good DI, use of Jigglypuff's ledge-cancelled Sing and my strategic use of Up-Air as Game and Watch. I am one of the most knowledgeable and active Master Hand players (along with Insane Carzy Guy and Dragoon Fighter), and a guide I have written to his gameplay can be found at this link: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=278836

Online Play

I do not have online connectivity and from what I have played at friend's houses/seen on forums, I do not intend to get it because of it's numerous problems regarding lag, taunt parties, etc... While I do not play SSB:64 often, when I do play I normally use Ness. I am trying to setup online support on Mupen64 at the moment.

My Melee Tier List

Here is my opinion on what the (PAL) Melee Tier List should look like:

S Tier: Fox, Sheik, Falco, Marth, Jigglypuff, Peach.

A Tier: Captain Falcon, Ice Climbers.

C Tier: Luigi, Mario.

---Viability Line---

D Tier: Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Link, Young Link.

E Tier: Roy, Yoshi, Mr. Game and Watch.

F Tier: Zelda, Bowser, Ness, Mewtwo, Pichu, Kirby.
