The Second Annual Twin Galaxies' Video Game Festival was a Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament held by Planet GameCube and Twin Galaxies alongside MLB Slugfest, Super Monkey Ball 3, and Crazy Taxi 3 at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. The number of attendants was described as "huge" by a first-hand witness, the official results posted stated that it was over 100. Participants came from from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois. The winner of the tournament won a Limited Edition E3 2002 Nintendo GameCube press bag, stuffed a GameCube/GBA notebook, E3 Press Kit, and a brand new Nintendo WaveBird Controller.

The preliminaries were a free-for-all, with all characters open, all stages open, and items on. The semi-finals featured the same rules except with three 3-player battles. The winner would move onto the finals.
