Playing for a Cause or Playing for a Cause: A Smash & RoA Black Lives Matter Charity Tournament was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate online random-only charity tournament held on June 5th, 2020. It also featured online Rivals of Aether singles. The tournament featured an extra $175 pot bonus for Ultimate and costed $5 to enter, and all proceeds went toward the Tony Mcdade Memorial Fund, as well as the Black Visions Collective Fund.
Banned regions
Due to gambling state laws, the following states/territories were not allowed to enter:
- Connecticut
- Arizona
- Maryland
- Quebec
However, players from these regions were still allowed to donate money to the charity through websites provided.
