Did you know that replays don't actually record, they, in reality, just "remember" the button presses. That's why replay files are so small and don't show lagging in Wifi matches.

Did you know that? Huh? Huh? Cafinator (talk) 14:32, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

It's purpose is probably to prevent you seeing the lag in a wifi match. --Posted by Pikamander2 (Talk) at 14:35, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

I knew that, but I was looking at this.

"Reports from YouTube users state that replays may alter what had been recorded..." Cafinator (talk) 14:42, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

If it remembers the button presses, then another memory slot would record stage movements, item spawns and all. Right? Yagomus (talk) 12:36, October 1, 2009 (UTC)

WAS???

In the first paragraph, it says it was possible to send replays to Nintendo for Smash Service. So you can't now?Smorekingxg456 14:43, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Video File on PC

I read the article and understand a replay is not saved as a video recording of the match but the input data from the match instead.

However how do you save it as video file so that say you can save it on your computer and the likes? Is there a program or some method you can use?

I would realy appreciate assistance provided please and thank you very much in advance. :) 120.151.88.10 01:47, 10 September 2011 (EDT)

People usually use a capture card on their Wii. There isn't really any other simple method to get a replay into a video file. Miles (talk) 01:50, 10 September 2011 (EDT)

It is possible to record over-10-minutes-long matches on Brawl

This article mentions "even with this hack, however, replays over 10 minutes do not function properly, as replays stop saving inputs beyond the 10 minute mark."

This is not true, I just recorded and replayed a 12-minutes-long match on Brawl with this Gecko code and it worked flawlessly. Perhaps the limit is still close to 10 minutes, but I would have to test it more. Of course, I haven't recorded that many replays yet, and replays are known to not work even without hacks sometimes.

This post mentions a 30-minutes-long replay, too.
