Talk:Randall the Cloud

Please now, "Randall" is clearly now a female named Dethklok.

Citation needed. The community needs to support unofficial lingo for it to be worth anything. Not every group of friends can come up with their own smash slang and expect it to be recorded in an encyclopedia after all. -- RJM Talk 12:35, September 1, 2007 (EDT)

deletion

Strong Delete. i see no reason to have a joke page, no matter how well-written it is nor who backs it up. a joke page is a joke page and doesn't belong in anything besides a personal page. FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 02:10, October 15, 2007 (EDT)
Weak Delete/Neutral hmm, apparently people are picking up this term and it's spreading. if it's used by many people, then this page is a keeper. FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 17:24, October 15, 2007 (EDT)

Delete: It's cute, but it shouldn't be on this Wiki. -Thores 02:20, October 15, 2007 (EDT)

Neutral: Well, if it's been called that by the general Smash Bros. community just like the terms "Wave Dash" and "Shinespike", it's about as valid as the articles on those terms, which counts as "pretty valid" IMO, but only if valid citations for any of these terms are provided/available. Otherwise, if it was clearly made as a joke long ago by someone who's the only person to identify the character as that, then I would support deletion. Just like Randall00 says in the section above this one, I see. :) (I also say mellow out a bit with the inter-page interactions, folks. 0_o) Erik the Appreciator 02:34, October 15, 2007 (EDT)

Against: This term, as mentioned above, is slowly being picked up by the community, especially in the Canadian Community and this article is completely valid as a "term". Similar to the term "John" which started out as an inside joke but then it grew to become a term recognized by everyone in the competitive community, something Randall the Cloud is slowly building up to. No clouded hopes. --Janitor 19:22, October 15, 2007 (EDT)

Oh, in other words, you're against the deletion, not the article. ^_^ Erik the Appreciator 01:41, October 16, 2007 (EDT)
What the heck is this article? PLEASE tell me this article is a joke! - Pokemon DP
Er... it's not a joke article. Maybe the current state of the content and arrangement of the article is a joke, but I see this as being able to end up very valid as a page. (The fact there's over 1000 articles on players of the games on this wiki makes an increasingly famous name for a stage element like this one seem valid to me. IMO, anyway.) Erik the Appreciator 01:51, October 16, 2007 (EDT)
Randall the Cloud is not an official name. Also, IMO, articles on players should NOT be made. We are an encyclopedia, we are about gathering information on the Super Smash Bros. series, NOT the people who play the games. If you people want others to know about you, you have Userpages to do that stuff. - Pokemon DP
