Special Stages is a term referring to the "location" of the Battlefield and Final Destination stages in Super Smash Bros. Melee, referring to the nature of the stages simplicity, fairness, and availability compared to other stages. It seems that all of the Special Stages (even if there are only 2) are traveling through space. Final Destination supposudly enters a wormhole to the real world for a short amount of time.
