General Information
TheBlueBlade (fmr. TheBlueGuy) is a smasher from South Bend, Indiana. He is a 21-year old 2nd year college student who is currently enrolled at Ivy Tech Community College, just getting his basics done to transfer to Ball State University to major in telecommunications and attempt a minor in Japanese. Blade is a sports announcer who announces for a local high school, in 5 different sports. He has also become regionally known through this announcing by doing such venues as ACHA Division III Hockey, the Indiana 1A and 3A State Hockey Tournament, the ASA National Tournament, SportsFest, and the Northern Indiana Wooden Bat Tournament. Blade is also a storm spotter and chaser for the National Weather Service (IWX).
Smash History and Information
TheBlueBlade has been smashing for eight years, competitively for four years. Brawl has brought out some new horizons, as Blade uses a few different characters, although he still hasn't found his main. He uses Marth as his main and Yoshi as his secondary in SSBM, and he mains Pikachu in Smash 64. Although he is not totally skilled at Melee, he is quite skilled at Smash 64. Blade's first ever Smash tournament was MELEE-FC in July of 2004, finishing near the bottom. Ever since, he has participated in the last two MELEE-FC tournaments, and he had the same results. Blade also attended South Bend Smash League in the summer of 2006, which fell through at the end of September 2006. He revived South Bend Smash League in November 2007, but it shortly ended after in March 2008. Blade made his Brawl debut on February 9th, 2008, and he finished 4th, his best finish ever in a Smash tournament. Blade has become a respected tournament director throughout the Midwest. He hosted two Midwest Circuit events, Well Thought Out Name, and co-hosted with Blood Hawk and Kel, the Midwest Circuit Championship.
Blade ended his long losing streak on January 30th, 2010 at M2K's Monthly Donation Fund (a monthly in Ohio run by the Springfield crew). His losing streak was 19 matches dating back to early 2008.
Midwest Smash Circuit (Brawl)
The Midwest Smash Circuit (aka the Midwest Central Circuit) was founded and organized by TheBlueBlade (IN) and SCOTU (MI). TheBlueBlade has since taken full responsibility of the circuit since SCOTU's retirement.
