t1mmy is best known as one of the most knowledgeable, active Kirby players in the Smash community. His identical twin brother t0mmy is well-known for his R.O.B. and Pichu. Together, they make up the notorious Super Smash Twins.

The two twins were the driving force in building up the southern Oregon tournament scene and continued to be the main contributors toward the competitive scene through Melee and into Brawl. They primarily play in the West Coast meeting up with smashers from Canada down to California.

History

Being a big "retro" gamer, t1mmy never bothered to get an N64 since most of the games didn't interest him. It wasn't until Super Smash Bros. was released that he played N64 regularly, to say the least. His primary character was Kirby since that is his favorite Nintendo character, with Kirby Super Star being one of his favorite games.

t1mmy took a break from compulsive gaming and started practicing traditional Kobudou (Okinawan weapons) and Pan Gai Noon Ryu (Okinawan karate). Although he played Smash Bros. Melee when it was released, he was very much into learning martial arts most of the time. After about five years of training, he moved to Oregon where a series of events not only got him back into Smash, but onto a competitive level.

History (Melee)

The first of these events was a Game Crazy tournament running scrubby rules (4-player free-for-all, items on). Sticking with his favorite character, Kirby, he made it to the finals where a Fox and Falco were teaming up to secure a victory and t1mmy found himself facing a 2-on-1 battle against the two Top Tiers. Not knowing any advanced techniques, he managed to secure a win by out-maneuvering and out-thinking his opponents on Mute City. He carries the same philosophies through to his now-advanced gameplay - reading his opponents' movements and using efficient maneuvers.

From his years of martial arts training, t1mmy knew that winners often let their accomplishments go to their heads and would learn less than the losers. Putting his victory behind him, he sought better opponents and looked for tournaments online and found them on Smashboards, the closest one being a 2-hour drive north to Portland. This was TANG 9.0, hosted by Aftermath. The turnout was small (about 8 entrants) but was the spark that lit a wild fire of tournaments you see in Oregon today.

Now armed with advanced techniques, t1mmy and t0mmy's interest in SSBM brought back DMStudios who had fallen out of the tournament loop and who happened to be living in Eugene at the time. With his teammate ~Shin_Ganondorf~, the Eugene smash scene started growing larger.

To get more people interested in the game, t1mmy and t0mmy started hosting smashfests and tournaments. Eugene became a half-way point for N. Oregon and S. Oregon to meet and get a chance to play each other without having to drive 4 hours each way. SF:E was held each month for about a year, until Jan. 2007. After that, the smash scene in Oregon grew large enough that tournaments began vying for open weekends within the community. Because of this, t1mmy started up weeklies at Big City Gamin', a local game store, and SF:E moved to Seasonal tournaments (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall).

History (Brawl)

When Brawl was first announced as a playable demo at E4All (October 18-21, 2007) both t1mmy and t0mmy immediately reserved their tickets. This would be the first of many trips down to California to attend Brawl tournaments. Held at the L.A. Convention Center, Nintendo's booth included eight televisions exclusively for Brawl. While Kirby was unavailable on the demo, t1mmy immediately picked up Meta Knight with natural flair and was the first to write a hands-on article on the character, published on Smashboards.

It was also at this event that t1mmy took 2nd place at the Play n' Trade Melee tournament. The brackets included some of the finest Melee players of the time and region including Isai, King, and Zelgadis (Mango was also in attendance, but this was right before he broke into the scene as a top player). Making his way through the brackets with a bottom-tier character, t1mmy made it to Grand Finals against DSF using Kirby proving hard work and determination is the only way to become a top player.

It was not too long thereafter that Nintendo held another pre-release event for Brawl. This event was held Feb. 23, 2008 in San Fransisco, CA. Here t1mmy competed in a 250-man bracket and made it into the top 8 finishers with his Kirby.

Since Brawl's release, t1mmy has traveled across the country with his twin attending Smash tournaments. Some of the biggest tournaments attended include MLG Orlando and MLG Columbus. He is considered one of the top smashers in the state and 'mains' all three Dreamland character, though he is best known for his Kirby.
