Zantetsu is a Smasher who plays the original Super Smash Bros. While Melee is still one of his favorite games, he believes nothing can top the original smash.
History
June 2006: Zantetsu began playing Super Smash Bros. Melee casually after finding it in a collection of games at a neighbors house. Seeing many memories, he decided to start playing the game again. On July 14th, Zantetsu began to figure out more about emulation and learned how to use Project64k and Kaillera to play the original Super Smash Bros. online. Zantetsu realized he was bad at the game when he played his first random opponent, Quickman!. After suffering a terrible defeat to the great Ness player, Zantetsu decided to learn more about the game and began to practice.
July 2006: Zantetsu found Wak's "Advance how to play" melee video. He started to practice everything in the video and began to try and implement it into both his Melee and SSB64 gameplay.
September 2006: Zantetsu found a site called Smashboards which he was linked to by Nephiros. Zantetsu began to look around the Super Smash Bros 64 forums and learned about a lot of things. Around this time, he had mastered L canceling and started to combo.
June 2007: Zantetsu began to be at a competitive level and started to be known by the community. He had also co founded the clan "Prophetic Tactics" with another competitive smasher known as "Peek".
March 2008: Zantetsu attended his first smash tournament and placed around the middle. He also received an NTSC-U copy of brawl 3 days before release.
August 2008: Prophetic Tactics closes. Zantetsu keeps smashing.
September 2008: Zantetsu returns to school and starts to hang out with friends more. Zantetsu starts disappearing from SSB64 but plays Melee more then ever.
November 2008: Zantetsu retires from SSB64 due to not having time to play it so much. He continues to teach 3 people in his area Melee.
March 2009: Zantetsu becomes part of the Brawl+ community, while continuing to play melee.
June 2009: Not playing either smash games much anymore, Zantetsu is still quite active in the Brawl+ community and his Youtube profile has gained a lot of attention to Brawl+ fans.
Trivia
- Zantetsu's old alias was "BHLMRO" which was changed in November of 2007.
- Zantetsu has over 2,000 posts on Smashboards.com
- Zantetsu changes his Melee tag quite often. The 3 most recognizable ones were ZANT, RAWR, and BEAR.
- Zantetsu spends more time researching and browsing Super Smash sites then he does actually playing the games.
- Zantetsu is anti-brawl but still plays it.
- Zantetsu lives in a smash dead community where there is only 3 other people to play. He has to travel 4 hours to Kansas city or St. Louis to get any competitive melee action.
- Zantetsu placed 3rd in a brawl tournament when he didn't play it for 4 months before that day.
