| PPMD started playing competitively in 2007 as a Mario main. He became famous in the ''Smash'' scene for his performance at [[Revival of Melee 2]] in 2010, where his Falco placed higher than {{Sm|Mango}}'s. He won his first national at [[Revival of Melee 3]], and later won [[Pound V]] as well, winning two sets against Armada in grand finals. Early in his career he frequently teamed with {{sm|Everlasting Yayhuzz}} and {{sm|LOZR}} in the teams known as "Catfish". At [[Apex 2012]], he defeated several notable smashers such as {{Sm|Silent Wolf}}, {{Sm|SFAT}}, and {{Sm|Wobbles}}, before losing to Armada and then being eliminated by {{Sm|Javi}} 0-2 in losers' quarters, placing 5th overall. | At MLG Anaheim 2014, PPMD only lost one set in his pool, to Leffen 2-3. He was seeded in winners' semis in the championship bracket, where he lost to Mango 2-3. | Despite being one of the best ''Melee'' players of all time, PPMD is known for rarely going to tournaments (outside of small NC locals) - he has recently only traveled to the largest tournaments, such as [[Apex 2014]], [[MLG Anaheim 2014]], and [[EVO 2014]]. PPMD has revealed that this is mainly due to personal issues, specifically depression. | ==Playing Style==

| PPMD has developed a mildly aggressive play-style that is very conservative and methodical compared to other top players. Although his technique is very refined and is considered one of the best players on both of his main characters, PPMD is not known for his technical prowess as much as other top players such as Westballz and Mew2King. Instead PPMD is known mainly for his strong mental game and extremely threatening dash dance that separates him from other top players. PPMD is one of the few melee pros who almost never consciously makes a sub-par choice in a match in an attempt to gain advantage or potentially disrespect his opponent, even when greatly ahead in a game. Other players note that PPMD was very hard on himself after a loss or making a mistake, not unlike several other top players. However, after having issues with depression, PPMD has lately changed his mindset to what he describes as 'acceptance'. In a recent interview, PPMD explains that his lack of energy caused by his depression is his main reason for picking up Marth for tournament in recent years. He feels that Marth better suits his play style when he has low energy. Regardless, PPMD frequently plays both characters in tournament, and still plays fairly aggressive most of the time.
