The Smash Files was a series of articles in Nintendo Power magazine which covered the confirmed characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl one by one starting in issue #206. The section detailed the characters' first appearances, listed things that they are known for, and gave a brief biography. After it had confirmed all announced characters at the time, the section was absent in issue #222 and never returned in future issues, even after the announcement of new characters.
