* use the singular form of nouns
* use the singular form of nouns
* with verbs, use the gerund form (jump-canceling) unless the infinitive form (wavedash) can also be used as a noun.
* with verbs, use the present participle form (jump-canceling) unless the infinitive form (wavedash) can also be used as a noun.
* do NOT use title caps. This is against the "rules" for titles but more appropriate for an encyclopedia, because we're documenting the proper capitalization of the term (hence, wall jumping is the proper title). Wiki software automatically capitalizes the first letter of the title; not much we can do about that.

Guideline.png This page is a SmashWiki guideline, a principle that suggests how users should contribute and conduct themselves. When editing this page, please ensure that your revision reflects consensus. If in doubt, consider discussing changes on the talk page.

Here are the standards by which articles should be titled. Whenever possible, follow these guidelines.

 • use the singular form of nouns
 • with verbs, use the present participle form (jump-canceling) unless the infinitive form (wavedash) can also be used as a noun.
 • do NOT use title caps. This is against the "rules" for titles but more appropriate for an encyclopedia, because we're documenting the proper capitalization of the term (hence, wall jumping is the proper title). Wiki software automatically capitalizes the first letter of the title; not much we can do about that.
 • full names should be used, not abbreviations. Thus, forward aerial instead of "f-air" or "AFA." Abbreviations can be made into redirects (write #REDIRECT forward aerial).
