Pokémon Stadium is the first Pokémon stage from Super Smash Bros. Melee. It is a starting stage and does not need to be unlocked. The stage is based on the stadiums used in Pokémon for battles.

The stage at first looks deceptively simple being a flat surface with two non-moving floating platforms and a large TV screen in the background.

However during play the stage changes into a different terrain based on Water, Fire, Rock, and Grass themes.

The big screen shows close ups of the fighters and warns players of the terrain changes.

An updated version of this stage will appear in Brawl.

Trophy Information

Trainers come from far and wide to congregate at Pokémon Stadiums, the ultimate venues to show off their Pokémon teams. There are many different arenas with varying terrain designs, some of which afford advantages to certain Pokémon. This particular stadium is reserved for huge events and boasts a big screen and spectacular fireworks.
