There has been much debate on whether Marth or Lucina is better. Here are the strengths and weaknesses of both fighters.
Character | Advantages | Disadvantages |
---|---|---|
Marth | Due to his longer range and tipper, he can space a lot better and safer. He also has access to really early kills because of his tipper. Shield Breaker is more risky but more rewarding for Marth, as the tipper breaks shields easier than Lucina's and is more powerful, but the hilt does less shield damage is weaker. Shield pressure is, like Shield Breaker, a lot more polarized than Lucina. His tipper attacks are safer on shield as a result of the higher damage and hitlag, but his sword is less safe on shield as a result of the opposite. | — |
Lucina | Due to her lack of a sourspot, Lucina does consistent damage and knockback. She does not of course have a sweetspot, so she lacks access to early kills. However, off the side of the stage, she can KO characters with an uncharged forward smash from 60-90%. Her Shield Breaker when fully charged is very powerful, able to KO from 45 to 60% off the side of the stage. Her attacks are also much safer on shield due to her lack of a tipper. | — |

Wait a second... Marth's tipped Shield Breaker only does 1% more than Lucina's, and his based does only 1% less. Is that really that big of a difference? It kinda makes Lucina's vastly superior. And I'd argue that spacing's efficiency is dependent solely on range, rather than power. Even Roy can space (but seriously, don't do that).

- Well....no one signed before, I'm not gonna start signing that. And Marth's tipper helps him space along with his added range simply adds to the benefit of spacing. Ganonmew, The Thankful Evil Clone 09:27, 22 November 2015 (EST)
- It's sort of a board as well, so that's one good point. And certainly Marth gains the most. I mean, getting hit by his tipped back air is bad news. Unless your name is Bowser. Drill Blaster Mark 2 (talk) 11:51, 22 November 2015 (EST)
- Wow, the board DOES look amazing. I can remove it if you don't like it. Drill Blaster Mark 2 (talk) 12:05, 22 November 2015 (EST)

- Can you start the disadvantages so I can finish? Ganonmew, The Thankful Evil Clone 12:37, 22 November 2015 (EST)
- I was actually thinking a complete revamp could work better. Details of one side are mixed up with the other. We'll see how it can be improved from there. Drill Blaster Mark 2 (talk) 13:58, 22 November 2015 (EST)
