Hideo Kojima is the creator of the Metal Gear series. His involvement was instrumental in bringing Solid Snake to Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He originally requested Snake to be in Super Smash Bros. Melee at first, but according to Sakurai, the game was too far in development for any additional characters. He developed Snake's stage, Shadow Moses Island. Kojima had a test play against Masahiro Sakurai, where he played as Snake and Sakurai played as Mario.
