On June 30th, 2020, in a wave of sexual allegations, The Michigan Smash scene was notified of allegations by {{Sm|Upaired}} through Nen’s behavior to her. In the allegations, they were initially close friends, and when the former confessed his feelings, she turned them down. He would then called her “a twink and bottom”, making Upaired feel uncomfortable. Although he would state that he was not aware of her age and stated that the comments were hasty jokes, Ann Arbor tournament organizers stated that although the latter may have been true, the former claim was debatable and that the overall tone would not change the fact Upaired was disturbed by this. As such, Nen was agreed to be banned indefinitely, have his tournament organizer status be stripped, and have the opportunity to appeal after one year after he apologized to his victims.
