::Given that one of Zelda's trophies in ''Smash 4'' refers to Sheik as a "young man", it's likely that NoA uses masculine pronouns when they're trying to hide that Sheik is Zelda, and feminine pronouns when they're not. For what it's worth, the Japanese version avoids pronouns entirely (something that's much easier to do in Japanese, and also happened with [[Sukapon]]'s Smash Blog entry).
