If the Wavelanded Laser is done correctly, Falco, Fox, or Kirby will slide backwards off the platform, face their opponent, and shoot the Laser. It's much harder to shoot the Laser while facing your opponent because you automatically turn in the opposite direction ~~and~~ shoot and because Wavedashing or Wavelanding forward usually causes you to trip then stumble on the edge of the platform.
