On May 13, 2021, an anonymous 4chan user [https://twitter.com/mickey_smash/status/1392960711983190019/photo/1 posted] that the characters in Fighters Pass Vol. 2 only had English and Japanese voice recordings for their crowd cheers, which is believed to be due to the development team being downsized throughout the development of the Fighters Pass, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic, which had an effect on development for Fighters Pass Vol. 2. The other characters in the game (including Fighters Pass Vol. 1) all have crowd cheer voices recorded in different languages for various languages including French, Italian, German and Spanish.

With this in mind, the 4chan user believed that any future DLC fighter would not be a character where language recordings outside of English and Japanese are required for the character. This would include any potential ''Pokémon'' characters such as Cinderace (who have different names in various languages) or any potential ''Sonic'' characters such as Tails (who already exist in-game with voices recorded in multiple languages, though recycled voice clips ~~are still a possibility much like Sonic, Shadow, and Knuckles~~).
