Charizard using Flamethrower.

Flamethrower is Charizard's Standard special move. When used, Charizard breathes a stream of flame out of his mouth. The flames deal constant damage; the longer Charizard uses this technique, the more damage dealt. However, over time, the fire weakens, resulting in the stream of fire shortening over time. When Charizard isn't using Flamethrower, it slowly charges back up to the original length. The length of the flame doesn't effect it's damage output, however.
