| In all the Nintendogs games, players start out at the Kennel where the player can choose from a lot of Nintendogs to buy. In some versions of Nintendogs, the player can have a Labrador Retriever from the start. However, in other versions the player has to unlock him in order to get a Labrador Retriever. They are one of the many species of dogs that can be bought in the game and are probably the most popular kind of dog.

| The Labrador Retriever appears in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]''. It was first seen in [[E3]] 2006 and was believed to be an item of its own. However, much later it was confirmed to be an [[Assist Trophy]]. This Assist Trophy doesn't actually help but it covers the whole screen, much like how the Nintendogs cover the screen in the original Nintendogs game when they are trying to play with their owner.
