Spin-Dash (born September 5, 1989) is a Canadian smasher from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He mains with Link, leaving Ganondorf and Marth to fall back to as his secondaries in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Spin-Dash currently mains Sonic the Hedgehog, while Pokémon Trainer and King Dedede are his secondaries to fall back on in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Spin-Dash is a member of The n00b School Bus, and currently ranks as 11th on the Alberta Brawl Power Rankings.

Tournament Activity

While having practiced advanced techniques and competitive gameplay since mid-2006, Spin-Dash did not have the convenience of being close enough to other competitive Smashers due to residing in Spruce Grove, Alberta (a mere 10 minutes outside of Edmonton to which he associates himself with regardless), coupled with a lack of transportation, currently. This in turn had once caused him to resort to computers as opponents and the occasional player in his town.

Spin-Dash's first tournament experience was in the year of 2007 at Animethon XIV, his Singles record lost in the midst of gameplay. His Doubles performance showed to be more potent, forming the temporary team of Star Fox with Fox as a former main. Advancing to the finals, his run would end when playing Stevo, a professional in the Canadian Smash Bros. community; here was where Spin-Dash obtained his first glimpse into what higher competition truly held for him.

Hitting the large tournament scene officially during At Melee's End, Spin-Dash proved himself to be a moderately impressive newcomer, easily adapting to the amplified atmosphere that the tournament provided while surprising the competition, which in turn allowed for a significant degree of improvement in his skill by the end of the tournament.

While generally lacking in the diversity that At Melee's End's roster of players provided, Spin-Dash nonetheless attended the Western Canadian Championships' first day to compete in the Doubles competition; forming the Blind Walruses once more with his partner of the previous tournament, Frio, they would prove to be an overall improved duo, clenching 4th place in the competitive crowd to establish a substantial amount of development in their overall skill.

On May 31st, 2008, Spin-Dash made his Super Smash Bros. Brawl debut, all the while leaving a considerate impact on fellow players' perspectives on the capabilities of Sonic (a character often joked about and considered to be garbage in contrast to the rest of the cast.) Having played against and beaten many formidable players such as MagnuM, Beeble, FalseFalco, SHWN, and many others in the Singles and/or Doubles events of Brawl, the mountain to climb in his first Brawl tournament was steep. It wasn't until SuPeRbOoM eliminated him for good that Spin-Dash's run in CT4 Singles would come to a halt. He took 9th place in Brawl Singles, meanwhile in both Doubles events, the Blind Walruses returned to clench 5th place in both tournaments.

Like many others, Spin-Dash was a sad panda that there was no time for Melee Singles; he had substantially improved his prowess as a Link user, only to have it put to the test in many friendlies at CT4.
