Hi, after sitting stagnant for a bit, hesitating, I decided to be the one to welcome you here; that's how we did it in the old days when someone joined a wiki. I'll be upfront: I'm extremely sorry about having a terrible short temper that I unloaded on you, just because I feel incredibly strongly about my childhood years (not to mention a turbulent past life on Discord where I burned too many bridges and had a monolithic view of nearly everyone on independent wikis). We don't need to say specifics because it's not related to SmashWiki or its goals, but I hope you accept my apology. When you thanked me for an edit on an infobox (I forget which), a wave of regret immediately hit. I assumed you were something you weren't.

But now, here's what is connected to SmashWiki and other wikis in general. One has to be responsible at ensuring that information is not lost. Even though many dislike me, one cannot the long-term preservation of information and media, of which there's a major lack with wikis because people tend to only focus on the official Nintendo content. In the 22nd century, people are not going to be caring about conflicts or my rants last Tuesday (not that anyone does to begin with); they're going to want the information readily available. It's just too bad that I've had behavioral problems my entire life: combine that with the fast-scrolling, retention metric-obsessed modern social media platforms, and it's a recipe for disaster.

Okay, so to help with a problem, I've added some unique Super Mario Wiki screenshots of Super Smash Bros. content here so that it treats the content with dignity so it's not cluttered into small wikitables or galleries where nobody will see them, and been adding the images on Fandom gradually because it's the institutional fallback, and I move the old SmashWiki content out of mainspace there. I'm an infamous stickler for wanting things to look a certain way, but when it comes to content and survival, I've learned that with some things, one has to make compromises if they want it in the public square.
