Melee majors[edit]

A quick question, where are you getting your sources for Melee majors? The last three tournaments you changed to "major" are events that almost no notable source considers a major. Even on the wiki, we usually consider a Melee event a "major" if at least 4 top 10 players are present. For reference, GENESIS: RED only had 2 top 10 players (SFAT and ChuDat) and BEAST 7 had 3 top 10 players (Armada, Leffen, SFAT). While Smash Camp End of Summer did have 4 top 10 players, Axe sandbagged the entire event as Young Link and as such he is not counted. In addition, although we don't always go one-on-one with other sources, these three tournaments are also not considered majors on Liquipedia or this document, used by MeleeStats member Pikachu942 for their top 100 lists. Finally, if you want to make an argument as to why any one of these events should be promoted, please discuss it on the talk page or even the Discord instead of just adding it to the page without discussion (not to mention, a tournament promotion on the wiki is much more than changing one line in the tournament's intro). Just noticed your edit to the SSBMRank 2017 page. We don't use the TTS to determine whether an event is a major because of what I explained above. CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 20:27, June 4, 2024 (EDT)
Bumping this. It still applies to all other Smash games as well. CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 17:07, June 5, 2024 (EDT)
