Heya! I'm a SmashWiki editor and an amateur Melee play-

Wow, you're a SmashWiki editor? How corking! Treat me like I have some common sense, would you?

-Erm, sorry you were offended by that, I'm jus-

Please don't bore me with your apologies. That's all anybody ever does. Apologize, again and again! I'm finished with it!

I'm only apologizing because you acted like you wanted one-

Blame it on me, eh? The nerve of you children! Always finding a way to avert the blame!

Cut me some slack, I didn't even track in any mud this time-

Filth! That's all anybody's ever given me! Hours lost of sleep, mopping up all the muck you vermin track into the castle!

Has anybody ever told you just how much you interrupt people?

I haven't an ounce of time for your chit-chat! Now get back to your dormitory before I get you detention!

I think he's gone now. Sorry for that rude beginning; our school caretaker caught up to me, and you can see I'm not his favorite student. I don't think he likes anybody, really. Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Moody Launisch, an ironic name for those of you who understand German. I play the game Super Smash Bros. Melee in my free time.

My Smash Beginnings

I began playing Smash when I was 7, playing Brawl casually with my sibling. I was reintroduced to Smash the summer of 2015, when I was able to buy Smash 4 for the 3DS. Around late fall of 2016, I decided that I would begin playing Melee instead. I was growing frustrated with the 3DS's limitations, and was intrigued by the fast paced, diverse world of Melee. I had been following the scene for some time, but I eventually made the full switch when I obtained a Melee disc. The game was much more difficult to learn than Smash 4; still is, as a matter of fact. But I find joy in improving through my own sweat and blood.

Other Smash (and related) Experiences

I'm a huge supporter of Rivals of Aether, SSF2, and Smash Crusade. Although Smash Crusade seems to be the weakest out of the three, it has potential. SSF2 is very well designed, and I can't wait to see the new characters. If the online mode is improved, I could see it gaining a scene. Unfortunately, I will not have access to Rivals of Aether until this summer. However, I greatly enjoy watching the matches at Genesis 4 and CEO Dreamland. If any Smash-like game can draw a crowd, it's this one.

I currently spend most of my time in the Competitive Google+ Smash Community. There are great people there who know a lot, and when they aren't posting memes, they keep well up to date on the competitive scene and try to help everybody else improve. If anybody needs a starting place, I highly recommend it. I often contribute match analyses and top player speculation.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to attend any real tournaments yet. This may be due to a lack of interest in Muggle games where I live and study. However, I have found a small group of skilled people that occasionally host tournaments, so I look forwards to the opportunity to partake in them.

Trivia

  • Launisch is German for Moody. Therefore, my name in complete English is Moody Moody. Funny, isn't it?
    • Strangely enough, my roots are primarily Italian, and my German heritage is minimal.
  • I believe that both Smash Box and B0XX should be banned.
  • No means of magic could possibly invent a game as great as Melee.
