Hi! I'm a bit of a Smash fanatic, as I'm sure most of us on this site are...I've been playing Smash Bros for almost 10 years now; still not as much as most of the game's audience, but I've picked up on a lot of gameplay styles and such. Smash Bros. is a very successful series because it can be played as a casual party game or a highly intense, technical and fast-paced strategy+action game that just kicks everything's butt when it comes to video gaming. Personally, I prefer Project M by far in comparison to other versions of the game. I know that's a bit predictable (like Mario's recovery), but I really enjoy how it's as if Brawl and Melee were melded into one game, with each one's best traits in there. I can't wait until Turbo Mode comes out.

So, who are your favourite characters and why? Do you play for the fun of seeing characters close to your heart all in one game, or for the warlike joy of a fighting game? I'm a bit mixed, but I love being able to use characters I actually like to play the game. That's my main reason for not enjoying Melee. I hadn't yet played FE: Shadow Dragon when it came out, so I couldn't appreciate Marth, and my favourite character in the game, Mewtwo, was barely even usable in competitive fights. I love that M has neutralized this problem and is making the characters pretty well equal in usability (however, I wouldn't suggest to anyone to fight Bowser using Jigglypuff. Can you say 2HKO?). Personally I enjoy Marth and Ness the most in M because of their combo potential and effective moves. Ness's PK Fire is overly spammable but he has many other options to damage and kill opponents. Also, Ness's recovery is pretty darn powerful once you can use it. Get creative with PK Magnet (his down+special) and you can abuse gravity all you like, which can help with combos, air attacks, etc. The sky is the limit!

Anyone else love that they gave Squirtle the Squirtle Squad glasses? It's unfortunate that they break so easily, though. Still, if you manage to get a KO with them intact, it's pretty awesome to think that you took so little damage. All in all, Project M does a better job testing players for their skill than the other games have done, and once the full character roster and turbo mode are released...well, it just might overwhelm Smash 4.

As I'm a pretty flexible and diverse player of the game, I don't have many real weaknesses, and as such, I'm able to use almost all the characters pretty well. Still, I've managed to separate the roster into 5 tiers. Any more than that will take much more time, consideration and experimenting for me to really do. So, here's what I have!

S tier: 1-Marth, 2-Snake, 3-Ness, 4-Charizard, 5-Donkey Kong. A tier: 6-Meta Knight, 7-Ike, 8-Mario, 9-Ganondorf, 10-Squirtle, 11-Bowser, 12-Pit. B tier: 13-Ivysaur, 14-Sonic, 15-Link, 16-Pikachu, 17-Sheik, 18-Luigi, 19-Toon Link, 20-Fox, 21-Lucario, 22-Lucas. C tier: 23-Falco, 24-Jigglypuff, 25-Peach, 26-Captain Falcon, 27-King Dedede, 28-Mr. Game and Watch, 29-R.O.B. 'Basement' tier: 30-Wolf, 31-Zelda, 32-Wario, 33-Diddy Kong, 34-Zero Suit Samus. Sorry this is only a boring text version. I'll get pictures up eventually.

That's all for now! Glad to be here.

My Friend Code for Brawl/Project M is 1678-8105-5929. If anyone is interested in having a fight some time, I'll take them up on the offer if I'm free! No guarantees though. This coming year is grade 12 for me and things are going to get pretty busy, I bet. Still, the occasional battle will be fun.

*POKEMON FANS* as well--if anybody plays Pokemon Showdown on their computer, I enjoy battling in just about every normal tier from Smogon's tierlist--from NU to Ubers and everything in between. Challenge me @ "The Toxic'd Durant" or "Demon519" or, less likely, "RecklessAerialsII"
