The following is a list of fighters who have secondary shielding stances which trigger after blocking an attack.
| Fighter | Description |
|---|---|
| Mario | Lower arm is at a slightly steeper angle and more inward |
| Luigi | Looking to the side rather than partly at the screen, legs more bent, arms lower down |
| Falcon | Raised arm rotated, fist pointed more towards screen |
| Jigglypuff | Closes one eye and frowns. Head in slightly forward position |
| Dr. Mario | Lower arm is at a slightly steeper angle and more inward |
| Pichu | Angry eyes |
| Lucina | Sword wielding arm in slightly different position, and head tipped more to the side |
| Game & Watch | Head tilted downward, thumb stretched out more |
| Pit/Pittoo | Mouth slightly open, bow at slightly different angle |
| Mega Man | Mouth closed |
| Greninja | Eyes open, tongue raised, lower hand more inward |
| Pac-Man | Head pointed more forward and downward, arms in slightly different position |
| Robin | Book open |
| Pyra/Mythra | Body facing more forward, arms further out |
| Mii Brawler | Neutral facial expression |
| Mii Gunner | Neutral facial expression |
