==Overview==
Tickens are poorly-made artificial creatures that resemble a stout chicken though, upon defeat, its "body" falls apart and reveals that a chick-like bird was piloting the Ticken, which chirps before flying away. The Ticken has two attacks, one where it flies into the air and then drops with an attack similar to the [[Bowser Bomb|Bowser]] or [[Yoshi Bomb]], which can [[buried|bury]], and another where it extends its spikes and rams the player. Due to their defeat animation having their body fall apart, Tickens cannot be subjected to [[careening]].

Ticken's name is a combination of the words ''tick'', describing what it does with its sharp, metal comb, and ''chicken'', describing the Ticken itself. It's Japanese name "Tekin/テキン" seems to be a corruption of "chicken (チキン)", as the katakana ''te/テ'' and ''chi/チ'' look very similar.
