I think it would be a little more notable if the character was definitely of a different sexuality, since that would be a first for the series. However, given that there's probably a large majority of players that would not have their avatar end up with the same-sex relationships (can't remember their names), and it's overall optional, I'd say it's pretty pointless.

Also keep in mind that [[Villager|any]] [[Robin|avatar]] [[Link|character]] could indeed be of a different sexuality, as they are a representation of the player, and if a homosexual person were to play the game that character would in turn be the same.
