Event Match 31: Mario Bros. Madness is one of the 51 Event Matches from the Event Mode in Super Smash Bros. Melee. This event match is similar to the point-system in Versus Mode. The player has two minutes to try and win as much points as possible. Points are rewarded for knocking out Mario and Luigi. The player loses a point if they kill themselves or Mario/Luigi kills them. If Mario or Luigi successfully knocks out the player's character, then they will receive a point. The character with the most points at the end of two minutes wins the event match.

Strategies

Items and Smash attacks are helpful for this event. Since this stage is covered with bricks, it will be difficult to make an upward kill. The side of the screen is wide open so using a throw, particularly DK's forward (the carry) or Pikachu's/Pichu's backwards throw is a good strategy. You could also use Mario, Dr. Mario, or Luigi's backwards throw.
