Tink made his start in smash on the local level at a series of tournaments called "The Pen2 Monthlies" where he won his first tournament by defeating {{sm|CunningKitsune}} with [[Jigglypuff]].  He then went on to participate in the "Melee Coliseum" series and so on...

Tink was one of the elite 5 players in the Midwest, also including {{sm|Drephen}}, {{sm|Dope}}, {{Sm|Vidjogamer}}, and {{sm|Darkrain}}, that had dominated the Midwest since mid-2005. The players are so close in standing that rarely will any of them win consecutive tournaments, often knocking each other out.
