'''Solaris''' (February 17th, 1994 &ndash; c. September 24th, 2012) was a {{SSBM|Samus}} player from Alberta, Canada. At the time of his death, he was fifth in the Edmonton ''Melee'' Power Rankings, and attended several regional tournaments including ADAT, [[CT3|CT4]], You, Three, and ADAT2, as well as the nationally recognized [[Central Alberta Smash Tournament|CAST4]].

Solaris tragically took his own life in September 2012.

==''Melee''==
Solaris was known for swiftly converting to Melee shortly after reaching third on Alberta's Brawl Power rankings, seeing Brawl's metagame as stale and unrewarding. At first, his progress in Melee was static: he frequently placed poorly at many small tournaments. However, after getting a taste of various professionals at CAST4, he started to pick up the pace, placing 13th. 

In addition, Solaris attended [[CT1]] with his brother at the age of ten, teaming with [[Smasher:FastFox|FastFox]].

Solaris and [[Smasher:Mach5|Mach5]] were in a rivalry for the best Samus player in Alberta.

==''Brawl''==
Solaris essentially quit Brawl, although he still attended tournaments for fun, solely using Samus. His playstyle was known to be extremely obnoxious, often letting the timer run to zero or excessively grabbing the ledge just under the legal [[planking]] limit.
