Considered one of the best Marth mains of all time, he was ranked 3rd on the [[NorCal Melee Power Rankings]] and 24th on the [[2019 MPGR]] when he was still active. He has beaten multiple [[god]]s: {{Sm|Mango}} at {{Trn|NorCal Regionals 2013}}, {{Sm|Hungrybox}} at {{Trn|Apex 2015}}, and {{Sm|Mew2King}} at {{Trn|Super Smash Con 2016}}. He frequently teamed with {{Sm|SFAT}} in doubles events, and the two were often considered one of the best doubles teams in the world (the team of PewPewU and SFAT being referred to as [[PewFat]]).

On March 12th, 2021, [[CLG]] posted a tweet in where PewPewU announced that he would be stepping down from competitive play for his new role as Senior Coordinator Marketing & Team Ops at CLG.<ref>[https://twitter.com/clgaming/status/1370464614157148161]</ref>. He says that he will still be a part of the Smash and greater FGC community, but will be more selective of the tournaments he enters and how much time he invests into the game.
