He is considered one of the best Fox and Joker players in [[SoCal]]. He was last ranked 8th on the [[SoCal Power Rankings]] in March 2020 and his highest placement was 4th a year prior. He has win over players such as {{Sm|Stroder}}, {{Sm|WaDi}}, {{Sm|Larry Lurr}}, and {{Sm|T3 DOM}}.

Lames started playing in ''[[Smash 4]]'', where he was a {{SSB4|Fox}} player. Due to his age, Lames wasn't able to attend many tournaments out of state or even in his own region, and as a result was a hidden boss until he placed 3rd at the arcadian {{Trn|2GG: Breakthrough}}. He later had a breakout performance at {{Trn|2GGC: GENESIS Saga}}, where he defeated {{Sm|komorikiri}} and {{Sm|6WX}} en route to a 9th place finish. Since then, he has defeated many other players including {{Sm|Tweek}}, {{Sm|VoiD}}, Larry Lurr, {{Sm|Elegant}}, {{Sm|Abadango}}, and {{Sm|Cosmos}}. By the end of ''Smash 4''{{'}}s main competitive lifespan, Lames was ranked 10th on the [[SoCal Smash 4 Power Rankings|SoCal All-Time Smash 4 Power Rankings]] and 98th on the [[Panda Global Rankings 100]].
