In June 2019, false's housemates invited a player named Trey to a house party against his wishes, despite the household reportedly having a standing rule that if any one resident was uncomfortable with a guest, that person should not be invited. During the event, false reportedly made an insulting comment towards Trey while stepping outside to smoke, causing a confrontation between the two where Trey sustained a chipped tooth. false initially stated that the injury was the result of an accidental collision and denied any intent to cause harm; however, others present at the scene, including {{Sm|Cilvanis}}, corroborated Trey's account, alleging that false had deliberately headbutted him following the exchange. On February 9th, 2016, false launched a {{iw|wikipedia|Kickstarter}} project intended to help him fund the filming of a [[Smash 3|documentary]] on ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]''{{'}}s competitive scene and its history.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1098411010/smash-3-super-smash-bros-brawl-wii-u-documentary|title="Smash 3" - Super Smash Bros. Brawl + Wii U Documentary}}</ref> However, after meeting all of the stretch goals, false's updates on the project became increasingly sparse, and he became known to ignore almost all inquiries about the subject. After posting only the eighth official update on August 18th, 2019, over three years since the launching of the Kickstarter,<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1098411010/smash-3-super-smash-bros-brawl-wii-u-documentary/posts/2598032|title=Smash 3's eighth update}}</ref> the project's status went dark, and when pressured repeatedly following the assault allegations covered above, false finally revealed a large backlog of footage and some of his editing process, although the actual extent to which he has worked is still unknown. In addition to the lack of consistent updates on the project's Kickstarter page, rumors began to circulate regarding the alleged misuse of funds raised for the documentary. Some of these unverified claims suggested that false had spent the Kickstarter funds on narcotics and other personal expenses unrelated to the documentary. false later denied these allegations, claiming that he had not used any of the funds for personal use nor even for his own living expenses. However, the prolonged absence of progress updates and failure to deliver the promised documentary failed to assuage the growing criticism within the community of false's handling of the Smash 3 documentary.

During the [[2020 allegations]], an anonymous [[Twitter]] burner account by the name of "Error: 102-R" would emerge and claimed in a Twitlonger post that after false's organization, [[team ZENMA]], disbanded due to the aforementioned assault controversy, false ran away with the Kickstarter money he had left. Error also alleged that false needed the editing skills of those in the organization to complete the documentary's production and so was unable to finish it himself after all of his possible collaborators had left.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200703204113/https://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sra654|title=Error: 102-R's post}}</ref> false would dispute this allegation, claiming that he had never solicited help from ZENMA team members and denied ever sharing any of the recorded footage with them. The aforementioned "Error: 102-R" account implicated false's ex-girlfriend, littleteafox, as an accomplice to his alleged misuse of the Kickstarter funds. As a response, littleteafox made a statement of her own denying any current connection with false or involvement with the ''Brawl'' documentary funds. Later in this statement, she alleged that false recorded their last sexual encounter without her consent and refused to delete it when asked by her, as well as alleged numerous emotional abuses, such as angrily yelling at her and breaking their belongings. Additionally, littleteafox claims that at multiple points in the relationship, he was financially dependent on her and spent any income he earned on weed, though she stated she could not corroborate the rumors of false spending the Kickstarter money on weed, while confirming that he did bought the equipment and flew out players to interview, as he promised using the Kickstarter money for.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200703202313/https://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sra7j7|title=@littleteafox's statement}}</ref>

In response to littleteafox's statement, false stated that he tried to end the relationship multiple times since 2017, but alleged littleteafox responded each time with intense emotional outbursts that manipulated him into staying in the relationship long after he wanted to leave it, feeling he could not leave the relationship safely nor without fear of escalation.
