Jigglypuff
Updated December 25, 2001

I was utterly torn over whether to keep it, but I didn't want to leave players who like Jigglypuff behind (which sounds like they have a sweet tooth), so I brought it back.
It is probably the first hidden character unlocked for a lot of players.

In the last game, Jigglypuff was designed to be "the weakest character".
(But even so, it could be rather powerful depending on one’s playstyle)

...But this time around, since Pichu has taken over the role of the intrinsically weak character, Jigglypuff was re-designed a little bit.

Above all else, Jigglypuff's mid-air speed is terrific.
It is faster to jump than to run, and it can change direction in mid-air cleanly and quickly.
Jigglypuff can also perform 5 jumps, and is undisputedly ranked #1 in horizontal aerial movement and control.

Jigglypuff's behavior is very unique, which means it can be hard to use, but if you can understand its mid-air movement and hit with the powerful "Rest" attack, it is possible to dominate other characters.

...In exchange, Jigglypuff can be easily launched, and its reach and power are bad.

How to unlock:
Clear Classic Mode with any character.
Or play 50 versus matches.

Jigglypuff. Oh, Jigglypuff. Its mid-air speed is terrific. "Rollout". Hit its spinning body at high speeds.

"Sing". The amount of time an opponent sleeps depends on their damage. If you have trouble with Event Matches, you can rely on "Rest". "Rest" puts it to sleep, with tremendous power dwelling in the center of its body.
