Donkey Kong
Updated September 4, 2001

He's the King of the Jungle.
He loves bananas.
He has the fearful Giant Punch.

With the increased processing power, we were able to get him to look this good.
We couldn't render his hair one by one, though.

Speaking of which, is it human nature that makes people believe that new hardware (like the Gamecube) makes anything seem possible when looking in from the outside??
That's an illusion, so please understand that every little thing is made by the hard work of actual people.

Back to the topic at hand, Donkey Kong can smash opponents into the ground with his newly added special, "Headbutt".
I wanted to make it a little cartoony with a slapstick kind of feeling.

Descriptions from images in this gallery are written here instead of on individual pages.
Donkey Kong on Jungle Japes Donkey Kong and Fox on Temple Donkey Kong attacking Link on Brinstar
Donkey Kong! The king of the jungle! Spinning Kong is a multi-hit move now. Giant Punch. When you land one after charging for so long, it feels great!
Donkey Kong carrying Nana on temple. Donkey Kong burying Samus on Temple Donkey Kong taunting on Yoshi's Story.
The Kong Karry is still present. I wonder if it's made some people cry? It's his new special move, Headbutt! I wonder if this taunt is a bit too infuriating...?
