| With the release of the [[Nintendo Switch 2]], tournaments have gradually introduced the console for ''Ultimate'' setups. The more powerful hardware leading to less loading and framerate issues has made it an attractive option to replace standard Nintendo Switch units. However, problems arise when both consoles are mixed together in a single tournament, as these gameplay differences and other benefits like controllers only compatible with Nintendo Switch 2 creates logistical difficulties when players go back and forth between console generations in a single tournament. For this reason, tournament organizers have been hesitant to fully switch over before they have a sufficient amount of setups ready.
